Position Summary:

The Fixed Income Group’s current business includes corporate bonds (secondary and new issue placement), Money Markets, CP/DN’s Agency securities (secondary and underwritten as FHLB an.d FNMA approved dealer), MBS, CMBS (agency and private label), Municipal (secondary trading), High Yield and Emerging Market. Individual and team applications welcome.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen existing relationships while maximizing revenue.
  • Create new client relationships.
  • Effectively use tools such as Bloomberg for analytics, research and communication.
  • Keep market-making traders abreast of the relevant issues with their clients.
  • Responsible for executing trading assignments and single security orders in accordance with agreed upon instructions from the firm.
  • Ability to create, maintain and unwind various hedging strategies using multiple methods alongside program trading assignments.
  • Take ownership for regional best execution responsibilities and ongoing counterparty execution quality and analysis.
  • Understand, comply and implement necessary regulatory responsibilities for portfolio execution.
  • Send trade confirms and assist with trade settlement for account.
  • Work with trading and compliance to create and maintain procedures and documentation for operations best practices.

Functional Title: Operations Specialist
Corporate Title: Associate
Assignment: Full Time (Permanent)

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of business operations experience, preferably in the Finance industry
  • SIE Exam and Series 7 License (can be obtained within the first six (6) months from start date)
  • Must have good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently with the utmost attention to detail under stress
  • Ability to manage and evaluate large sets of data across a variety of inputs
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel with a solid overall aptitude with learning technology and systems

Responsibilities:

  • Pass the SIE and Series 7 exams (within the first six (6) months from start date)
  • Assist in checking prior day trades to ensure account compliance
  • Produce, review, and distribute various daily trading operations reports in support of the equity trading and asset management departments.
  • Help maintain accurate client records by confirming and delinking terminated accounts.
  • Maintain applicable account lists, track the efficiency and progress of various daily exports, maintain records of recurring distributions and work with client custodians to resolve outstanding items.
  • Label new accounts as well as perform daily/weekly checks to validate account labeling.
  • Review custodian alerts and restrictions against internal systems.
  • Send trade confirmations and assist with trade settlement for accounts
  • Work with trading and compliance to create and maintain procedures and documentation for operations best practices.

Schedule/Location:

  • Orinda, CA or New York, NY
  • Market Hours Depending on Time zone (8am NY and 5am CA)

Compensation: $65,000 -$70,000 depending on experience

Functional Title: Junior International Equity Trader

Hours: 3PM-12AM PST
Location: Orinda CA
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000
Required education: Bachelor of Arts or Science – ideally in finance, math, engineering, physics or computer science

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to work overnight during non-US market hours
  • Manage client relationships and ensure best in class service
  • Learn and implement trading methods to ensure best execution
  • Collaborate with senior staff on trading projects and one-off tasks
  • Perform trade cost accounting and post trade analysis
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth onboarding and settlements
  • Closely monitor market conditions and trading themes

  • Learn the different types of order instructions
  • Learn how to implement the different order types
  • Ability to interpret and follow accounts’ instructions and make decisions on how to best execute order for either
